The Cane River film festival is produced by the Resurrection Fern Foundation, Inc. a Louisiana non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2012 with the mission of historic preservation of the Cane River Creole heritage. We want to share our Louisiana stories with a World wide audience, seek opportunities for distribution and celebrate student and independent filmmakers achievement in telling the stories they want to tell.

The Cane River Film Festival is funded by the donations of generous individuals and businesses. All donations are made to The Resurrection Fern Foundation, Inc. 501(c)3 organization for Historic Preservation. The Winning student/independent filmmaker of the 2025 Cane River film festival will receive a $1,000 cash award prize and a $500 travel expense grant from proceeds raised through sponsorship donations from the Natchitoches Historic District Development Commission. All information must be completed for application to be accepted. Vendor positions will be selected by the Festival Committee. Vendor forms must be submitted by February 22, 2026. Event is March 21, 2026 Vendors can begin set up at 9:30am..
Once application is accepted by committee all vendor fees must be paid before vendor can be officially registered.
